Crash Count for SD 11 13,045 crashes • 34 deaths
About these crash totals
Counts come from NYC police crash reports (NYC Open Data). We sum all crashes, injuries, and deaths for this area across the selected time window shown on the card. Injury severity follows the official definitions in the NYPD dataset.
- Crashes: number of police‑reported collisions (all road users).
- All injuries: total injured people in those crashes.
- Moderate / Serious: subcategories reported by officers (e.g., broken bones vs. life‑threatening trauma).
- Deaths: people who died due to a crash.
Change badges (arrows and percentages) compare the selected window with the same period last year whenever we have enough history. The “From 2022” view compares today’s totals with the earlier multi-year span. When a comparison window isn’t available the badge shows an em dash.
Notes: Police reports can be corrected after initial publication. Minor incidents without a police report are not included.

About this list
This ranks vehicles by the number of NYC school‑zone speed‑camera violations they received in the last 12 months anywhere in the city. The smaller note shows how many times the same plate was caught in this area in the last 90 days.
Camera violations are issued by NYC DOT’s program. Counts reflect issued tickets and may omit dismissed or pending cases. Plate text is shown verbatim as recorded.
CloseBlood on the city line in Senate 11
Two Queens pedestrians were hit in a week in Senate 11. Both crossed with the signal. Both left the street with serious head wounds. This district now feels like open season on walkers.
Queens Senate 11 is supposed to be calm. In seven days there were two crashes instead. Both victims walked with the light. Both took head blows bad enough to count as serious injuries.
At Little Neck Parkway a turning driver cut across a 78-year-old man in the crosswalk and left him semiconscious on the pavement. On Hillside Avenue a speeding sedan sliced lanes and hit a 59-year-old woman, also crossing with the signal, and left her bleeding and in shock.
State Senator Toby Stavisky backs safety bills in Albany. Residents can press her to pair that record with tougher enforcement, slower speeds, and real pedestrian priority on Little Neck Parkway and Hillside now.
- 2 crashes in last 7 days
- 2 serious injuries
- A left turn on Little Neck Parkway. A driver cut across and hit an old man in the crosswalk. Head wound. Blood on the city line. Night traffic rolled on.
- A driver pushed a sedan too fast on Hillside. He cut lanes and hit a woman crossing with the signal. Her head bled on the cold Queens street.

About this chart
We group pedestrian injuries and deaths by the vehicle type that struck them (as recorded in police reports). Use the year selector to compare the current window with the prior period.
- Trucks/Buses, SUVs/Cars, Mopeds, and Bikes reflect the broad categories we use to track vehicle harm.
- Counts include people on foot only; crashes with no injured pedestrians do not appear in this card.
Notes: Police classification can change during investigations. Small categories may have year-to-year variance.
